Education:

• In 1993 graduated with distinction from Saint-Petersburg State Institute of Technology. Physical and chemical studies of metallurgical processes.
• Doctor of Sciences in Engineering (Dr.Eng.) in 2006. Theoretical and experimental substantiation of chemical transformations of sulphides in industrial wastes and the study of the influence of mineral oxidation products on their technological properties and the environment.
• PhD in Engineering (PhD in Eng.) in 1996. Features of the lead production by electrolysis of halide melts. 

Research interests:

• Reveal of the most significant mechanisms of environmental pollution resulted from hypergene processes occurring in the stored mining waste in the subarctic conditions
• Development of methods reducing the negative environment impact
• Development of technologies for final extraction of non-ferrous metals from under-conditioned ores and mining-induced raw materials with simultaneous production of construction and technical materials

• chemistry of coordination compounds, directed synthesis and study of the properties of functional materials based on transition metal compounds
• Physical chemistry of electro-physically active functional materials, inorganic sorption materials and their use for cleaning process solutions from toxic components; environmental issues.

• development of energy-saving technologies for the mineral raw materials processing in order to produce high-quality iron-containing concentrates for non-metallurgical metallurgy processes

Dr Mitrofanova has been working in Mining Institute KSC RAS since 1990. Since 2016 – head of laboratory of flotation reagents and beneficiation of complex ores.

• PhD in Engineering (PhD in Eng.) in 2003. Increasing the efficiency of flotation of apatite-containing ores based on the use of alkyl dicarboxylic acids and their mono-derivatives
